Leaves

And so as not to have a thousand forests
growing in our yard, we are cleaning up leaves
from the floor of the wooded area of our yard.

Some leaves are moved (via tarp) to our garden spot
and into flower beds.
*
Autumn's leaves are God's garden fertilizer.
*
And others are moved (via tarp) to the thicker
woods across the road, where they can
break down and feed the trees.

And some leaves are simply piled high,
in HUGE piles,
for the sole purpose of
jumping and playing in them.

(Eventually, this pile will be moved to the garden spot too,
once the first layer has settled.)
