We keep saying that we need to purchase shopping bags to minimize our use of these plastic sacks .... well, we WILL be getting those shopping bags this week now for THIS week's grocery shopping.

It breaks my heart to see plastic bags in themouths and around the necks of wildlife. I have been using reuseable makret bags for about 6 months now almost exclusively. If a retailer offers paper bags I always opt for them for newspaper and mail recycling purposes. Some foodstore chains have the BEST reuseable bags. Up in the mid-atlantic, they are superfresh, a&p, pathmark (I think). They are from the Elizabeth Haub Foundation and feature the most beautiful pictures of landscapes and wildlife. THey rotate their selection with the seasons. They hold about 3 times the amount of groceries as regular shoppping sacks so it means less trips to and from the car to the house. I hope yo ucan find some in your area. They are only 99 cents a piecce and worth every one of those 99 pennies. Have a great weekend.
