On a nature walk yesterday, we watched as ants traveled over their "roads" back and forth to their large nest (which was in and extended beyond the grass at the upper right of this photo), carrying this and that.
We also noticed that there was not one dawdler in this community as far as our eyes could see.
Proverbs 6:6
Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise.

We did this the other day, too. Ants were EVERYWHERE! :)
Great tie in to that verse. I've never seen a lazy ant.
I have always loved this illustration of hard work and I love when God uses nature to teach us our lessons! Thanks for the post!
We have ants too! They are always climbing on me somewhere and it makes me crazy.
I know they are helpful creatures and we can learn a lot from their behavior but I wish there just didn't have to be so *many* of them.

Ants are certainly extra busy this time of year. We too have been observing them a lot. My son turned over a rock and there was ants grabbing little eggs and running all over the place.

My kids love watching ants too! We have tons all over the place so they get plenty of opportunities. The other day my 4yodd and 3yods noticed one of the larger ants dragging a dead spider about 4 times its own size across the driveway. They followed it the entire length of the driveway fascinated at how hard he worked.
Thanks for sharing.
